Yellow tea

General information

Yellow tea is a micro-fermented tea with a flavor profile similar to green tea, but rounder, softer, warmer, and slightly sweeter. Due to the precise and complex production process, yellow tea is a precious and very rare delicacy.

  • Pick and wilt briefly
  • Heating: steaming or roasting
  • Microfermenting under damp cloths
  • (sometimes roasting on charcoal)
  • Shaping and drying

Preparation

Yellow tea is made with water at a temperature between 75°C and 85°C. Depending on the tea and personal preference, steep it for between 2 and 5 minutes.
